According to the article I read people who have higher levels of stress can affect their ability to do routine in the gym. The researchers found that being stressed out could reduce a person's ability to adjust to a new training program. A study conducted at the University of Texas showed that people with lower levels of stress had larger strength gains after doing the bench press and squat than participants with higher levels of stress. Next time you plan to try another routine, resolve any problems you may have in your life. Reduce your stress, try meditation before you decide to go back to gym and hit the weights.

Body Art Regrets
Some people get tattoos and do not take time to consider the consequences and later regret about doing it. Whatever your reason in the first place why you decided to get one, the point is you should take time of what is going to happen in the future. If you get a tattoo like a name of the person you love and later on you broke up. What you want to do now is to get rid of that reminder and avoid fights down the road. Good news for you there is a latest lasers that can remove those tats without scarring and pain by targeting only the ink, not the surround skin. The new laser treatments use pulsing light to permeate the top layers of skin. It then cause the ink to break up and become reabsorbed by the body. Ask your doctor about the treatment.

Sprint Fidelis Defibrillator Leads
Do you know what Sprint Fidelis Defibrillator Leads? To tell you the truth I have no idea what it is until I did my research online. I found out that it was Manufactured by Medtronic, Inc.(the world's largest medical technology company). Sprint Fidelis Defibrillator Leads are specific models or cardiac electrodes that connect an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) or cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (CRT-D) directly to the heart. This are devices that protect patients when life-threatening heart rhythms occur.
Due to Defective Defibrillator Leads the FDA considered the removal action to be a medical device recall. The Medtronic Defibrillator Recall issued after five patient deaths have been linked to the devices. The Medtronic said that the defibrillator lead can fracture and may have been a contributing factor in the deaths. They voluntarily removed in the market the Sprint Fidelis defibrillator lead. The Defibrillator Lead Recall of this said models are as follow:
Sprint Fidelis 6930

Light Makes No Difference
This post are for smokers, here's what you need to know about light cigarettes. Some smokers switch over to light cigarettes thinking they are somehow less dangerous to their health with less nicotine than regular cigarettes. A UCLA study shows that the light versions deliver almost as much nicotine to the brain as the regular smokes. UCLA researchers found low-nicotine cigarettes act similarly to regular cigarettes, occupying a high percentage of the brain's nicotine receptors. Light cigarettes have nicotine levels of 0.6 to 1 milligram and regular cigarettes contain 1.2 to 1.4 milligram.
Bottom line don't fool yourself into thinking that switching from regular cigarettes to low-nicotine is somehow better for you. The best choice is to make up your mind to quit and stick with your decision.

Fitness Q and A
Some of us have questions about our exercise dilemmas. I read about an article that tackled this issues. The expert answers this questions. Below is one of the questions that some of us are wondering also.
Q: Few minutes into workout and we already break out in a sweat. Does this mean we are completely out of shape?
A: Sweating is actually a sign that we are in a good condition. It is our body's way of regulating it's temperature. The moisture on our skin evaporates into the air, which cools down our body and keeps it from overheating. The more fit we are, the more quickly this temperature regulation system kicks in. If we didn't start sweating until later in our workout, our temperature could rise dangerously high and put us at risk for dehydration and heat exhaustion. By perspiring steadily throughout our workout, from the warm-up through the cool down, we lose less water overall and keep our body temperature at a safe, steady level.

Stay Well Part Two
Here's the continuation on my post Stay Well. Let's start on number six.
6. Stay Active. According to the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, active people suffer fewer colds than their sedentary peers. Experts says that exercise helps send antibodies and white blood cells through the body faster, which could fight infections in an earlier stage.
7. Secure a Flu Shot. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends the vaccine for everyone. If you have an egg allergy make sure to talk to your allergist before getting the shot because the shot contains small amounts of egg protein. For babies younger that six months cannot be vaccinated, so other members of the household should get the shot to avoid catching and spreading the virus.
8. Make Your Place Allergy-free. Use a vacuum machine that has a HEPA filter to avoid sending back the potential allergens into the room through the exhaust.
9. Wash Your Hands. Wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds. With clean hands you are at less risk of catching an infection.
10. Clean Up Clutter. If you have books or magazine make sure to dust regularly. Clear all magazines in your bedroom because they are magnets for dust and mold. Use internet instead for reference tool for past magazine articles.

Support Go Red for Women
Let us talk about the heart disease. The term heart disease covers a numbers of diseases, that affect the heart. This includes coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure and angina. The question is what causes heart disease? Whatever we do and whatever we intake affects our body. Also the risk we cannot change is your family history. Many lifestyle factors contribute such as cigarette, smoking alcohol intake, physical inactivity, and obesity. Serum cholesterol and hypertension play a major role the formation of heart disease. We all know that heart disease is the biggest killer of both to men and women. This disease is also know as silent killer because the very first symptom of heart disease is a heart attack and 50% of those people who have a heart attack never have a warning. 33% of those without any prior symptoms of heart disease die from their first heart attack. In other words their first symptom is death. In United States alone 1,000,000 people die from atherosclerosis per year. 50% of people who die of a heart attack have normal cholesterol levels.
Living a healthy life style will definitely help us avoid heart disease. Learn and follow the basis of a heart healthy diet. There are several guidelines listed by the American Heart Association, that we can follow.

Stay Well
Take these 15 steps to avoid illness. I will only post five today and I will continue posting more about it until it's done. Staying healthy is important specially in this time of economy crisis. Getting sick is not an option, so proper caution is a must. Here the first five for this post.
1. Have your moment in the sun. You must know by now that Vitamin D is important, it can reduce the risk of respiratory illness. One way to get Vitamin D is when you exposed yourself to the sun and the other one is taking multivitamins with Vitamin D to it. According to the National Institutes of Health just a bit of sun for 10 to 15 minutes blocks twice a week should be enough. Don't forget to put sunscreen.
2. Eat Fish. You all know about Omega-3 fatty acids and you can get this in seafood so eat 2 to 3 ounce serving of fish twice a week (salmon and albacore tuna). Omega-3 acids promote the production of anti-inflammatory substances, which experts believe improve immune function. If you don't like fish try eating spinach or walnuts. Use soybean oil or canola oil while cooking.
3. Go Barefoot. Some of people having a hard time doing this one. Try to make it a habit. Removing your shoes makes it less likely that you'll track pollen and mold from the outside world through your home.

Children Obesity
If you think children obesity is only the problem here in America well you are wrong. According to Reuters the rate of childhood obesity in South Korea has tripled over the last three years. It was a result of a bad diet. These kids mostly consumed higher in fatty foods and a more sedentary lifestyle. The South Korean government is planning to help obese children by helping them pay for their health club memberships and other physical activities to lose weight. They are giving away 40, 000 won equivalent to $33.58 a month to help these kids. How good is that? Their government will cover these expense to help obese kids. Good for them. I'm hoping it will help them to lose weight.

Fat Diet
Have you heard about fat diet? Do you even want to try it? I read an article that talked about doing fat diet. It says the researchers tested two kind of diets. I bet you know these one. It is the most common diet that maybe you already tried. They used a high in carbs and the other one is based on healthy fats from olive oil. You know it most people who are on a diet use olive oil and this is what they used on their diet experiment. They concluded that the fat diet kept stomachs flatter. The study showed a Mediterranean-style diet with about 30-40% of the calories from unsaturated fats like that olive oil appeared to help prevent waists from expanding. This diet also helped participants maintain better insulin sensitivity. On the other hand, high-carb diet encouraged bodyfat to relocate to participants midsections. So if you are planning to get into diet try fat diet.
